These last few months I’ve been having the worst back pain I’ve ever had, so after much procrastination I finally went to the doctors about it.
Sooo… a blood test and xray later and it turns out I have slight scoliosis in the lumbar part of my spine!
For those of you who dont know, scoliosis is a spinal issue where, a part from the natural ‘S’ curve spines normally have, my spine is slightly bent. Mine is located at the lumbar, or lower back, area. On top of this, I also have reduced disc space at my L5 vertabrae, which I basically the bottom of my spine.
So because I went to the doctors about it, I can stop it from getting worse, luckily, but now I have to be careful, Im not allowed to run much and have to really work on my core strength.
So just a word of advice, if you’re having back pain, it never hurts to get it checked out, my doctor was really good in that he tried to eliminate as many causes as possible as quickly as possible. It meant the blood test took a little more blood than usual and an X ray, as wel as a list of stretches to do at least once a day.
Goes to show the doctors aren’t all bad, but I still dont like having to go.
